Jayson “J.D.” Miller

Jayson Miller (they/them) is an EMDR and TF-CBT trained, neurodivergent affirming therapist, supervisor, trainer, and founder of the Identity & Acceptance Program. Jayson is currently the Director of the NY Foundling’s Identity & Acceptance program, an Article 31 clinic to provide mental health services to support LGBTQIA+ youth through individual, group, and/or family therapy across all boroughs of New York City.

Jayson has been creating safer spaces, advocating for, and working to update policies to be more inclusive for the LGBTQIA+ community since 2008, while outwardly identifying as part of the LGBTQIA+ community since 2006. Their personal life experience as a queer and gender expansive individual has led them to understanding some of the struggles with access to LGBTQIA+ competent treatment and services, as well as challenges that youth may have around their sexual orientation and/or gender identity/expression.

“Your resources have helped me so much, and my family to accept [youth]. [Youth] is thriving in ways they haven’t…maybe ever. Thank you thank you thank you!”

– Family member of LGBTQ+ youth

“I’ve had therapists before, but none who actually identified like me. That’s really cool. You get things I don’t have to overly explain or feel weird for feeling.”

- Client

“I’m so glad that [provider] referred us to you. I want to be supportive but there’s some things I am struggling to get.”
